The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, successfully hosted the “2025 APEC Digital Health Forum” on Tuesday, September 16, at the Dynasty Hall of the Shilla Hotel in Seoul.

This event served as an official side event for the 15th APEC High-Level Meeting on Health and the Economy (APEC HLMHE). Over 150 participants, including representatives from APEC member economies and stakeholders from academia, industry, and international development entities, gathered to explore the future of international cooperation through digital health.

Held under the theme ‘The Future of Digital Health: Convergence of Academia, Industry, and Development Cooperation,’ the forum featured keynote speeches by Professor Vivian Lin of the University of Hong Kong, Professor Joon Beom Seo of Asan Medical Center, Vice President Jong Min Choi of Samsung Electronics, Professor Jae-Heon Kang of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, and Medical IP CEO Sang Joon Park. Presentations shared diverse experiences and perspectives from academia, industry, and development cooperation. Notably, KOFIH's global cooperation projects, such as the telemedicine support project in Vietnam, were introduced, sparking active discussions on enhancing digital health infrastructure and sustainability in developing countries. Director-General Yunsoon Jung of Healthcare Policy Office at the Ministry of Health and Welfare stated, “Innovation in healthcare services using digital technology will be a key to opening a healthy and sustainable future for the Asia-Pacific region.” President Il-Soo Ha of KOFIH added, “We hope these discussions will develop into a cooperative model that APEC member economies can implement together.”

KOFIH will continue to lead the way in bridging global health gaps and expanding inclusive cooperation, building on its experience and achievements in the field of digital health.
