Ceremony for Completion of Program to develop Healthcare Human Resources in Congo(Lee, Jong Wook Fellowship Program)(February 2

`2009 Lee, Jong Wook`s Fellowship Program-Program for Development of Healthcare Human Resources in Congo` were conducted after the school entrance ceremony tool place on 07 December 2009 as part of the project to provide education to raise healthcare human resources in developing countries. The programs ended after its completion ceremony held on February 25th at the saturn hall of 63 Building in Yoido of Seoul. In this ceremony, the entire doctors involved training, Han, Kwang Soo, the president of KOFIH, persons from KOFIH, and persons from hospitals involved in training showed up.
Poi Edumun, a specialized cardiac physician who read the valedictory during this ceremony on behalf of 10 trainees quoted "I was able to learn Korea`s state-of-the-art medical technology through this training" and he also quoted "I would like to pass down the medical technology acquired through this training program to the doctors in my home country to provide better medical services in Congo". Dr. Poi Edumun who received this training at the cardiac internal medicine of Korea University quoted "I wish the best of luck for Korea and Congo. I also wish for intimate cooperative relationship between the two countries and enormous development for Korea, Congo, KOFIH, and KOCOKO.
Min, Woo Seong, the chief of the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation center in Seoul Seongmo Hospital and the representative of this training institution, quoted "I felt curiosity, expectation, and responsibility based on the fact that I got to meet the doctors from countries I`ve only approached through books and screens" and he also quoted "I heard from a training doctor that Congo is dependent on South Africa for the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cell. Therefore, I tried throughout such a short period to provide as many methods as possible to make contributions to treating blood diseases such as leukemia and to the concept of transplantation. I hope it was worth it". He also expressed his feelings of regret on three months of short training term.
Three organizations of Seoul National University Hospital(Pediatrics/Orthopedics/Dental), Korea University Anam Hospital(Gynegology/Cardiac Internal Medicine/Nephrology), and Seoul Seongmo Hospital(Angiology) participated in this event to train the medical human resources from Congo. These three hospitals have provided the best of their support for the last three months by arranging accomodations and exclusive professors for this provision of education.
Jimmy L. Lundula, the deputy Congo Ambassador to Korea who attended this ceremony, through his toast quoted "Through this training program, Korea`s friendship and hospitality towards Congo deepened" He hoped to maintain a solid cooperation between the two countries and quoted "Based on this training program, I sincerely hope to activate a greater exchange of medical technologies and information"
