1st Cycle of 2009 Lee, Jong Wook`s Global Young Frontier, Selection of 10 Participants for WPRO`s 60th Hong Kong General Meetin

On September 8th(Tuesday) at KOFIH`s Lee, Jong Wook`s Reference Room, KOFIH conducted interviews on 18 applicants who passed the 1st paper-based screening to select the final 10 applicants to participate in WPRO`s 60th Hong Kong General Meeting to be held on september 10th as the 1st Cycle of 2009 Lee, Jong Wook`s Global Young Frontier. The ones qualified for the 2nd interview through a competition rate of 18:1 include 9 high school students and 12 university/graduate university students. Since the first mission assigned to `2009 Lee, Jong Wook Global Young Frontier Cycle 1` is to participate in WHO WPRO`s Hong Kong General Meeting as observers, the interviews consisted of common sense-based Q&A involving healthcare, reasons for applying, life goal, and listening test in English. 10 final applicants selected(5 high school students &5 university students) will participate in the 60th WHO WPRO`s Hong Kong General Meeting to be held in Hong Kong from September 21st to 25th as observers qualified by the government of South Korea. These applicants will be conducting their own activities from the opening scheduled at 9AM on September 21st(Monday) at the Hong Kong Medicine Center to the 60th WPRO Anniversary Banquet scheduled on September 22nd(Tuesday) at Hong Kong Shangri-La Hotel. Regarding the first cycle selected this year through `Lee, Jong Wook`s Global Young Frontier`, a program conducted as part of the project to commemorate late Lee, Jong Wook, the former director general of WHO and the first Korean chief of international organization, KOFIH will routinely promote the project described above under the purpose to raise global man of ability.
