On June 23rd(Tuesday), a ceremony celebrating the expansion of garage for `mobile clinic` and the expansion of the training center located on the second floor of the office building for healthcare human resources in developing countries was held at KOFIH`s medical equipment support center located in Yangju-Si of Gyeonggi-Do. KOFIH`s medical equipment support center opened in June 2006 with its site scale of 3460㎡ and its building area of 974,52㎡. Used medical equipment donated by domestic hospitals free of charge were repaired, restored, and provided to hospitals in developing countries such as Uzbekistan/Sri Lanka/Vietnam/Mongolia. Accordingly, provision of follow-up education for transfer of technology has been ongoing as well. The space newly expanded as the training center on the 2nd floor of the office building in the medical equipment support center is 207.90㎡(approximately 62 Pyeong). In this space, board and lodging facilities were prepared to allow healthcare human resources to stay while receiving education. It consists of accommodations, express restaurant, dressing room, and shower room. The construction for expansion began on February 17th. Healthcare human resources from a number of developing countries visited KOFIH`s medical equipment support center to receive education on maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Therefore, more convenient facility for provision of education was newly established to provide more effective and structural education. A garage for KOFIH`s `Mobile Clinic` was newly established as well. With regards to mobile clinics, the 1st vehicle containing gynecology/dental facilities was manufactured in February 2008. There are currently three vehicles including the 2nd vehicle containing ophthalmology/otolaryngology facilities and the 3rd vehicle containing x-ray facilities. These mobile clinics conduct movements to all places in South Korea for provision of cost-free treatments to foreign migrant workers and multi-cultural families. The garage was newly established to prevent winter-time malfunction, freeze, and burst of medical equipment equipped on mobile clinics in advance. The size of garage is 119㎡(36 Pyeong) and its capacity is limited to two mobile clinics.
