KOFIH sends medical supplies to provide support for restoration of flood-stricken areas in Laos(October 10th)

KOFIH is conducting a project to enhance people`s health in developing nations through provision of medical supplies and modernization of healthcare facilities in developing countries. On October 10th(Friday), KOFIH`s foreign cooperation team sent medical supplies to the Health Department from KOFIH`s medical equipment support center located in Yang-Ju of Gyeonggi-Do to provide support for restoration of flood-stricken areas in Laos.
Laos is a country located at the inland of Indochina. Approximately 200,000 people were influenced by the heavy rain in July and approximately 170,000 people suffer from lack of food and drinking water. In particular, an increasing risk of outbreak of diseases in flood-stricken areas is threatening healths of the people in vicinity. KOFIH promoting projects to provide support for healthcare in developing countries provided support for Laos through provision of medical supplied.
The persons from the international cooperation authorized by the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs, 10 home and foreign visitors including Mun, Kyung Tae, the vice president of Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Souk Vone Keola, a Laos Ambassador in Korea, and Oh, Myung Hwan, the president of Korea Laos Friendship Association attended the ceremony for provision with No, Kwang Ul, the secretary general of KOFIH, and Lee, Heon Tae, the chief of Headquarters.
This provision of medical supplies included 10 kinds of supplies such as sap and antibiotics supported by KPMA. The medical supplies were directly sent to the Health Department of Laos on October 21st(Tuesday).
