KOFIH visits Godaif Hospital in Africa to check Health Status & Hospital Maintenance Status(September 16th ~24th)

From September 16th(Tuesday) to 24th(Wednesday), KOFIH`s investigation and research team basically conducting projects to provide support and check actual healthcare status in developing countries visited Godaif areas of Eritrea in Africa. KOFIH evaluated the maintenance status and health status in Godaif Hospital as well as the health status of Maakel Zoba in Eritrea, effectiveness and influence of the projects conducted by KOFIH to provide support for hospitals located in Godaif areas. Eritrea in Africa is one of the world`s poorest countries. Godaif Hospital is where KOFIH is conducting its project for modernization and is located at the neglected southern area of Asmara, the capital city of Eritrea. From September 2004 to present, KOFIH has been sending its medical assistance team along with provision of medical equipment and ambulances to Godaif Hospital as part of the project to modernize Godaif Hospital. KOFIH also provided tumor-removal operations and dental assistance services. Godaif Hospital consists of outpatient clinic, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, dental, clinical laboratory, X-ray, EKG, pharmacy, TB, and HIV/ADIS. It also provides all medical services free of charge except for X-ray imaging. In addition, it provides pre/post-childbirth nursing through house-visiting programs and HIV/AIDS-teaching program. During this visit, KOFIH conducted a survey targeting the director of Godaif Local Hospital, employees of the Local Health Department, employees of Godaif Local Hospital, and hospitalized patients. KOFIH also examined the environment of diseases and the health status. During this visit, KOFIH had a meeting on September 18th at the health department of the Central Government of Eritrea with Saleh Meky, the Minister of Health Department, and Ghermai, the chief of the International Cooperation. The Minister of Health Department of Eritrea showed his gratitude to the support provided by KOFIH and quoted "Godaif Hospital was able to become a local hospital based on X-ray, Ultrasonic equipment, clinicopathologic equipment, fence support, ward repair construction, dental equipment, and medical supplies supported by KOFIH". KOFIH also visited Merhano Local Hospital and Halibet Hospital to observe their current status of maintenances and organizations of treatment centers. In addition, KOFIH also visited Orotta, the dean of Medical College and shared a discussion on establishment of training centers for community healthcare of the college graduates.
