31st S.Korea/N.Korea`s Co-treatment in Onjeong Hospital

KOFIH biweekly performs co-treatment activities in Onjeong People`s Hospital located at Onjeong-Ri, Goseong-Gun, Gangwon-Do of North Korea. Therefore, KOFIH performed its 31st South Korea/North Korea`s co-treatment from January 25th to 27th.
This time, Byun, Jae Jin, the Minister of Health and Welfare directly inspected this co-project for Onjeong People`s Hospital. The medical staff treated 96 North Korea residents in fields of gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, and oriental medicine. KOFIH performed a pilot survey during this period to construct a training center behind the hospital.
The treatment team included Lee, Hyang Ae, the director of Lee, Hyang Ae Orthopedics, Choi, Kyung Sook, the director of Dongseo Gynecology, and Seo, Hae Sook, the chief of thorax internal medicine of Seoul Municipal Seobuk Hospital. In particular, Lee, Seok Won and Choi, Hyuk Yong, the directors of Hamsoa Oriental Medical Clinic participated as well. The 1st project for South Korea/North Korea`s cooperation on oriental medicine will be conducted periodically in the future.
Observing details of this treatment, management for pregnant mother before delivery, pelvis tumor inspection, and uterine cancer inspection were performed in gynecology. IMS treatment(acupuncture, remedy, and body holding exercise) was performed in orthopedics and echography was performed in internal medicine. Pain-related diseases such as infant, digestive trouble, and backache and gynecology disease were taken care of in the oriental medicine.
Park, Soon Young, the director of Onjeong People`s Hospital to Byun, Jae Jin, the Minister of Health and Welfare quoted "Remodeling of the Hospital was excellent and co-treatment between South Korean/North Korean doctors is active. Such results make great contributions to the transfer of technologies to North Korean medical staff members and treatment for patients". In addition, Park also quoted "The continuous support for facilities and education provided to North Korea medical staff members should be more active".
Minister Byun quoted "I am very glad that Onjeong People`s Hospital is being well-managed based on KOFIH`s support" and he quoted "I hope this hospital becomes the bridgehead of medical cooperations between South Korea and North Korea.
