KOFIH conducted a large-scale provision of flu vaccination along with KMA, Love & Kid, and Sanofipasteur Pharmaceutical Company to assist North Korea to prepare for influenza infections in winter. The medical supplies sent to North Korea through this provision include approximately 223,895 doses of vaxigrip(worth 1,645,000,000Won). Such large-scale provision of influenza vaccination to North Korea was never done before. On December 26th, the ceremony for this provision of medical supplies was held at Korea Vaccine Ansan Manufactory located in Ansan-Si of Gyeonggi-Do. The supplies were sent to North Korea on December 27th through the East Sea land route. The medical supplies will be mainly distributed in areas of Wonsan-Si, Goseong-Gun, Gumgang-Gun, Tongcheon-Gun, Anbyun-Gun, Hwaeyang-Gun, Gosan-Gun, and Bupdong-Gun. North Korea currently suffers from lack of medical supplies and due to the freeze-up, flu vaccination is unconditionally needed. The medical supplies of this provision are expected to make great contributions to preventing the flu from children and elderlies.
