2nd Visit to Tanzania for Parasite Management Project

From June 28th to July 19(Medical Assistance Team visited from June 29th to July 7th), KOFIH visited 2 areas(Wet/Cheke-Cheke) at Pemba Island in Tanzania along with academia professionals including Min, Deuk Young, an honorary professor of medical college of Hanyang University, Yong, Tae Soon, a professor of medical college of Yonsei University, and Lee, Jong Won, a professor of medical college of Yonsei University visited 2 regions(Wet/Cheke-Cheke). In Umjambarauni Primary School and Vitongoji Primary School, 200 students were respectively inspected of parasite infections by examining urine, feces, and blood.
The interested person of Pemba Local Health Department introduced poor healthcare environment and showed his gratitude to KOFIH for its project of support for parasite eradication. In February, KOFIH also conducted an identical form of parasite project at Zanziba, an Island in Tanzania.
The visiting members of KOFIH promised through a conference with interested party of Parasite Research Institute of Zanziba Health Department to co-promote a project to make contributions to reinforcing capacity of human resources by passing down technologies. In addition, a meeting was held with the chief of KOICA to share information on circumstances and promotion status of the projects conducted by KOICA.
