For three days from July 18 to 20, the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, KOFIH, held the International Forum on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) 2016, along with side events including an expert workshop and visit to UHC institutions of Korea. As the Forum marks 4^th year in 2016, KOFIH set “Strengthening health financing systems for UHC” as the theme and shared basic concepts for UHC such as “fiscal space” and “public financial management.” The Forum also shed light on the joint efforts made by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Korea, the World Bank and the World Health Organization under the Tripartite Programme to reach UHC in the four beneficiary countries (Laos, Myanmar, Tanzania, and Peru). This time, Senior Director Tim Evans of WB, health financing policy coordinator Joe Kutzin of WHO, and other renowned UHC experts participated in the Forum as presenters. The Forum was also attended by about 200 UHC professionals including the participants of the international training program of the National Health Insurance Agency (NHIA) and Health Insurance Review and Assessment Agency (HIRA), and Dr LEE Jong-wook Fellows.
